Mother's Day

I know everyone says that their mother is the best mother in the whole wide world but let me tell you MINE IS THE BEST MOTHER IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!
Allison Tavaglione is the most amazing mom and an even better Yaya.  She puts everyone before her self and puts every ounce  of energy she has into being my mom. I don't think she ever goes a day without thinking about her family or especially Rylee or Brady. If I'm on the phone with her and she hears that I'm sick she is still on the phone and in the car running to my rescue.  My mom was a Pinterest mom before Pinterest existed.  Cookie's, birthday parties, PTA president she knows how to throw an event and everything was an event; it made my childhood unforgettable. She has made every holiday growing up more special than the next, we still get stockings at Christmas and a very special Valentine every year.  She made our school lunches everyday, dropped us off and picked us up everyday never a minute late.  A homemade dinner was on the table 5 out of 7 nights a week and it wasn't even the same for every family member.  She attended every awards ceremony, drove us to dance everyday, sat at countless dance recitals and football games.  My mom has gone over and above to make my childhood so memorable and special. Suffice it to say  . . . SHE NAILED IT!!   I loved every minute of my childhood and have strived to recreate (with moderate success) everything she had done. . . . side note I am SO excited to make school lunches for Rylee next year :)    At Rylee's Mother's Day tea one of the Mom's called me "the Put Together Mom" I credit my mom for always having it together. You make me want to be a better mom every day.  I hope you are proud of the mom I am trying to be, I'm trying hard not to let you down. Mom you are one amazingly beautiful woman, I hope to grow up just like you (no I still don't think of myself as grown up)
My mom is without a doubt my best friend. I'm not sure when the shift went from "I know it all adolescent" to "I can't live with out you, adult" but I'm sure glad our relationship is where it is today.  Every question I have I go to her, if I need advice, she's number one on my list.  She really is the first person I call in ANY situation, and even if it's after 8pm and I know she's in bed she will still take my call. We talk multiple times a day and are always planning our next event. She is always there to listen to my many ups and few downs.  She has taught me how to be a true friend and the real meaning of unconditional love.
This little bundle of crazy is who brought me into this wonderful place called motherhood!!  Rylee Marie, 5 years ago, on April 4th at 8:59pm you changed my world.  Being a stay at home mom is the most rewarding job ever. It is also the hardest job EVER.  I'm trying my best but good lord I could be doing a lot better.  I have big shoes to fill, my mom was the best stay at home mom; If I am half as good as her I will be A Ok with that.
I love having a daughter, Rylee is amazing and I couldn't imagine my life without her.  I hope, and pray that Rylee and I have the same relationship as my mom and I do.
Brady, Oh Man I love you but for sure you are my payback child.  For everything I ever did to my parents you are giving it back to me 10 fold.
Those blue eyes and big mouth are so beautiful they can make a crazy day so much better when you look at me and say night night mama.  Those dear sincere words are what make motherhood so special.  The unexpected kisses, sweet pats on the back or when you need "helpa" but really only want to be hugged is what I live for.  Chris is a wonderful son and I hope that Brady will continue to be a Mama's boy for EVER!!  I'm sure his future wife won't care :)

My grandmothers are more special to me than I could ever express.  I have a wonderful relationship with both Nonnie and Mimi.  I talk to them all the time and we have become closer with time.  They are a wealth of knowledge and have taught me more than you know.  I have come to Mimi with just about every problem I have ever had.  She is such an amazing listener and always seems to agree with me (until lately when it comes to Courtney's dating advice) Mother's of 5 children, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, collectively I value their opinion, and hope that I can pass on their values and traditions.
Last night while opening mother's day gifts everyone got one but Bryn and Rylee was very concerned that Aunt B had been forgotten.  We told her that she wasn't a Mommy yet but when she is she would get presents too!!  We asked Bryn if she had any announcements but she assured us that there was nothing to announce.  Maybe next year there will be one more Mommy in our family . . . one can hope right??
Happy Mother's day to all the amazing Mommy friends, I'm glad we get to go through this crazy time in our life together!!

Brady's first Baseball Game

My Mom graciously comes down on Fridays to help me out with the kids and their school schedules.  Rylee loves that Yaya picks her up from school and Brady knows when Yaya comes down it's time for school.  When we've spent more than one or two days with my mom Rylee will cry for Yaya when she leaves.  This particular day Rylee cried and cried and cried, I don't think my mom could take it . . . so she offered to take her home and bring her back the next day for soccer . . . No brainer . . . sure!!  I called Chris, told him Rylee went to Riverside and we just had Brady.  His first question was why didn't she take Brady too??  After that got answered we started to think of what to do that Brady might think was fun.  There is this inflatable world that has all giant inflatable slides and jumpies down in Mission Valley.  Perfect, a place where he could run and do whatever he wanted to do without restrictions or having to be told NO!!!
He loved it.  He ran from slide to slide . . ."C'mon Mama . . . "C'mon Dada"  It was great that we got to focus on Brady and he was in charge.  He usually follows Rylee around and goes where ever she goes but here it was all him.
After bouncing and sliding all over the place we thought he might like to go see his first baseball game down at Petco.  Crazy that Rylee's first game was at Angle Stadium and Brady's was at Petco    :(  I was a little sad but Petco is an amazing stadium with so much to see!!  We got back in the car and headed downtown.  Brady was like a deer in the headlights, up on Chris's shoulders taking in all the sights.  We ate in the gaslamp amongst all the rowdy fans and bought the cheapest tickets we could find.  We knew that Brady would not sit through one inning but once we got in he loved checking everything out.

In the outfield there is a little beach and he loved being down there playing in the sand watching the baseball players warming up!

After he got antsy we headed WAY up to the top to have a look from above.  It was great, when we got up there I was pointing out the pitcher and batter saying watch him hit the ball and he hit a really high pop fly that was practically eye level with where we were.  Then every batter Brady would asked "in the sky??"  Of course they were all strikes and ground outs!!  We ate our ice cream and before we knew it, it was way past bedtime.  Home from downtown by 8pm is the earliest I think I have ever gone home.  Life sure is different with kids!!!
We had a great time and I think Brady LOVED it.  Chris and I decided that we need to do more things with the kids separately.  It was such a joy just to focus on one kiddo and watch everything through their eyes.  We weren't going in two directions, Brady dictated where he wanted to go and we followed.  Brady is getting bigger and bigger by the minute.  I feel like he is more in tune with the world around him and is starting to figure it all out!!
Loved our date with the Brady Man!!
Next we are going to take Rylee miniature golfing!!!

Dorothy and Fishy Fish

First pet . . . . and its a fish!!!!

Rylee had been asking for a dog for a couple weeks and it was driving me nuts.  I do kind of feel bad being that I'm not really an animal person and Chris really is.  Rylee has become really good with Bryn and Scott's dogs and my Nonnie and Papa's dog, so this is where the dog asking came from.  She thinks she is the dog whisperer!!
So finally I told her, why don't you ask Daddy tonight when he gets home tonight if you can have a fish (better than a dog and I assumed he would say no because he gets home late from work).  I prepped her and everything, "if Daddy says no you say, its ok maybe another time"  she said "and maybe if I can't have a fish I can have a snail" . . . PERFECT!!
Chris gets home, she asks, he says sure what time does petco close??
CRAP!!
At this point I tell Chris you and Rylee go get the fish, Brady and I will wait for your return with fish.  As these words left my lips I could see the wheels in Chris's head turning . . . I just knew he would return to tell me that I needed to be home between 10 and 2 the following day so they could come and install the fish tank!!
Change of plans I'll go with you.  I am thinking one goldfish and a glass bowl and Chris is thinking aquarium with 30 fish.
We all head off to Petco and sure enough Chris and Rylee head for the big 'ol fish tanks.  I keep Brady busy looking at all the fish when I overhear Chris talking to some lady and he's saying
"30 gallons can hold how many fish???"
Really  . . . do I know my husband or do I know my husband???
I quickly intervene to tell him my plan of one fish in a small fish bowl.  We settle on this small fish tank with two beta fish, one for each.  Chris convinces me that "we" might be able to keep them alive longer in this environment (I forgot to mention that I have killed every fish we've ever won at the fair, not one fish has made it passed 24 hours . . .whooops!!)
Rylee names hers Dorothy and Brady names his Fishy Fish.

2 fish
1 fish tank
1 bag of rocks
2 plants
1 bottle of fish surviving liquid
$100 later we have 2 new pets!!!

Brady is really the one that likes them the best.  Every time he wakes up the first words are "I see fish??" and when we go to bed he says "nigh night fish" He was a little mad they didn't make it in his room or at a level he could put his hands in!!
There is this divider in the tank because Beta fish are fighting fish and they will kill each other if they are together.  The first morning Rylee runs in our room and says that Dorothy isn't in her tank, but on the other side with Fishy Fish . . . . SHIT!!!  Chris and I run in there thinking that one will be dead and not lived in our home more than 12 hours.  Come to find that both fish are swimming on the same side!!!  Chris quickly scoops out Dorothy and returned her to her respective side. . . Crisis averted and they have been alive for one week!!!  That's quite an accomplishment in our house  . . . Go Us!!
